Borderlands 2 Details Revealed
Some details for the upcoming Borderlands 2 were revealed in the latest issue of Game Informer.
Borderlands 2 will feature 4-player co-op and it will star a new set of protagonists. The protagonists from the first game will still be there, but will be NPCs. The bearded character featured on the magazine’s cover (pictured above) is named Salvador, and he is a Gunzerker.
A new element known as Eridium has also been revealed, however it is not a new weapon. But, it can be applied to other elements such as guns or vehicles to improve their stats. It can also be used as a form of currency.
As for enemies, well, AI’s have been greatly improved and bandits can access their own type of weaponry. Enemies are also more responsive and can interact with one another.
Also, weapons from the first game will not be in Borderlands 2. Gearbox will be scrapping all the weapons from the first game and will be adding in all-new weapons. The gun manufacturers in the game will each have their own themes (which includes unique styling, colours, and personality). Weapons will also have custom decals and enhancements and some pickups will have temporary buffs. The skill tree will be similar to the first game’s skill tree.
